A beautiful view. South Africa: WELCOME to Game of Thrones country where images of the aptly named Dragon Mountain show the beautiful landscapes of South Africa at over 10,000 feet. One image taken on November 30th show the sun appearing over a peak in the distance, shining over the great expanse below. These images were captured at a height of 10,499 feet, at the top of the mountain. The highest portion of the Great Escarpment is known as uKahlamba in Zulu, meaning barrier of up-pointed spears. These images were captured by professional photographer Clint Ralph (59) at the top of the Drakensberg Mountains, also known as Dragon Mountains, using a Canon R5 camera. “3,200 metres high. It was extremely rugged with plenty of wind and rain and pretty cold at this time of year,” said Clint. “We hiked to various locations looking for incredible landscapes, hoping for inversions, storms, cloud and rainbows to make the images more dramatic. “The pure beauty of the landscape up there is amazing. If everything aligns one can get the most amazing images. “It was exhilarating, humbling and peaceful. Such a feeling that we are truly so small and insignificant against nature.” mediadrumimage/ClintRalph
