London-based artist Patrick Laing has designed the hand-crafted eternity and wedding rings using the French method of lost-wax casting. The rings are custom-made in wax and molded in rubber as insurance against the loss of the unique wax print. The 'You and Me' rings were developed from an idea that was planted in Patrick's head from childhood. "The idea for the rings developed a long time ago, the seed being a tiny nugget of gold my father brought back from a trip to the Klondike River and old gold mines in Canada. "I was still a child and he suggested that I could melt it down into ring at some point in the future. I still have it and have always adored its fleshy surface. Eventually I will use the Klondike gold for my own eternity ring," confides Patrick. The bespoke rings come in Gold, White Gold, Silver or Platinum and prices start at GBP 900. Patrick showcased his rings at Tent London last week alongside various other projects he has been working on. He said: "We had a very good response to the 'You and Me' wedding rings in particular; they generated a huge amount of interest with a hearty amount of orders in all the precious metals we offer."
